Students who participate in Model UN are active in civic engagement within the global community. As part of preparing for competitions, students are exploring and debating world issues from the perspective of actual world leaders.
Model UN helps students develop leadership skills and allows members to experience and understand the world's countries and their interaction within the structure of the United Nations. University of Maryland students from any year, major, or college are welcome to join.
Congratulations to Maryland's Model UN Team, who competed in the NYU Model UN Conference from April 6-9, 2017! The conference consisted of crisis simulations, which mimic the meetings and style of the actual UN Ambassadors. Ten UMD delegates participated in the conference:
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is a proud sponsor of the University of Maryland Model UN Competition Team.
