The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences expects and rewards academic accomplishment. Here are some of the ways you can be recognized for your academic achievement.
Academic Honor Rolls – Each semester, BSOS students are highlighted for academic achievement on the Dean's List, induction into Phi Beta Kappa, and other prestigious honors.
Honors College – The Honors College is a special academic home for high-achieving students at Maryland through a variety of programs including living-learning programs and departmental honors programs.
Departmental Honors Programs in BSOS– Most of the BSOS majors offer Departmental Honors Programs where advanced undergraduate students pursue a research project with a faculty member and take special honors-level coursework. Students admitted to a departmental honors program also become members of the Honors College.
BSOS College Graduation Honors – The BSOS College recognizes individual students through a variety of Honors at graduation.
Honor Societies – There are a large number of national honor societies that may invite you to join. Some are outstanding organizations that have chapters on campus including but not limited to Primannum (Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma), Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), and Phi Beta Kappa.
